This Mount Gravatt East bathroom renovation transformed a dated and impractical bathroom in a 1950 post-war home into a bright, open and easy-to-maintain space. The original shower-over-bath arrangement was removed to create a generous walk-in shower, while the home’s tall decorative window was retained to preserve some of its original character and bring natural light into the room.

Following professional asbestos removal, the bathroom was rebuilt with full-height White Gloss rectified wall tiles and Studio 39 Nacar Natural floor tiles from National Tiles. The large-format neutral flooring continues through the walk-in shower, complemented by a recessed wall niche and custom frameless glass screen.

A wall-hung Posh Domaine vanity in Florentine Walnut adds warmth against the crisp white tiling. It was paired with Mizu Soothe and Mizu Drift tapware in brushed nickel, a wall-mounted basin outlet, matching towel rails and a custom bevel-edged mirror.

The renovation also included a coordinated laundry upgrade featuring Polytec Polar White Matt cabinetry, a Volcanic Stone Smooth benchtop, Memo Hugo stainless-steel sink and Mizu Soothe gooseneck mixer. The result is a practical bathroom and laundry renovation that feels fresh and contemporary while remaining well suited to this classic Mount Gravatt East home.
