Accessible Bathroom Renovations in Brisbane
A well-designed accessible bathroom can make daily routines safer and more comfortable at home.
Kingston Renovations builds accessible bathroom renovations across Brisbane’s inner south for homeowners planning ahead, families modifying for a loved one and clients working with occupational therapists.
We discuss each person’s needs and assess the relevant accessibility requirements during design.
Specialised Accessibility Features
-
Barrier-free showers that eliminate trip hazards and allow wheelchair access. Built to AS 1428.1 NDIS bathroom standards.
-
Properly anchored rails and support bars positioned to the specific needs of the person using the space, not a generic solution dropped in wherever it's easiest to install.
-
Structural doorway modifications to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids, carried out correctly and to the relevant Australian Standards for accessibility.
-
Surface selections and installation techniques that reduce fall risk significantly, without sacrificing the look and feel of the finished space.
-
Basins, tapware and storage modified for seated use or reduced reach. Fitted and finished to the same standard as any other Kingston renovation.
-
Wall-mounted fold-down seating installed at the correct height for safe and comfortable use. Structurally anchored to hold the required load.
-
Additions and surface modifications to existing baths for homeowners who prefer to retain bathing facilities alongside accessible shower modifications.
Planning for Accessibility
Kingston Renovations works with homeowners, occupational therapists and NDIS participants.
We plan around the user’s mobility needs and any applicable design or funding requirements, with the scope confirmed before construction.
